Online in Ontario
Cascades Casino and playing online
Cascades Casino North Bay is a land-based casino, and none of its pages offers online play of its own. Online casinos in Ontario follow a separate set of rules, and this page sets them out in order.

Who may run a casino site in Ontario
Two conditions must both be met before an Ontario private online casino counts as lawful. The AGCO, the market's regulator, must register it first; next, iGaming Ontario has to grant it an operating agreement. Those sites are listed at igamingontario.ca, and the desk recommends looking up a name there before anything else. The regulated market opened on April 4, 2022.
OLG.ca is a different matter: OLG operates it as the online casino of the Ontario government. Every site in this market, OLG.ca among them, is limited to adults 19 and over who are physically in Ontario. Cascades Casino North Bay does not work that way. Its pages offer no online casino play, so a night on Pinewood Park Drive and an online account have nothing to do with each other.
Stepping back from online sites
BetGuard, found at betguard.ca, is the one-step online self-exclusion run by iGaming Ontario. With one registration, anyone 19 or older is taken off every regulated Ontario gambling site, and OLG.ca is one of them. The break may be 6 months, 1 year or 5 years long, or run for a term the person chooses.
Land-based casinos, Cascades Casino North Bay included, fall outside its reach. They are covered by OLG's My PlayBreak instead. Breaks last 1 to 5 years or 3 or 6 months, and during one no casino in Ontario will admit the person. For enrolment, casino staff and PlaySmart Centre coordinators can help, as can the OLG Support Centre on 1-800-387-0098.
The Ad links and the commission
Should you wonder about advertising, the desk can be exact: three links, each tagged Ad, appear on the front page, and other pages carry none. You will see the header button, a block once the first view ends, and one at the foot. They lead to a single online casino in private hands, from which this guide draws a commission; that casino could change in future.
That partner is not OLG.ca. It has no tie to Cascades Casino North Bay, to Gateway Casinos & Entertainment or to OLG. This guide has no such tie either, and it neither takes wagers nor opens accounts. Any online operator, including this partner, can be looked up in a directory iGaming Ontario keeps at igamingontario.ca.
How the pictures were made
Every drawing on this site comes from an image generator; none is a photograph. The young woman in them is invented: she has no name, is not on staff at Cascades Casino North Bay and wrote none of this guide. Two scenes, the MATCH dining room with its navy banquette and the bar, were generated from real photographs of the pub. Each keeps nearly the same angle but shows another hour. The lake, the birch boardwalk, the lakeside car and the bus shelter were invented, and nobody was photographed at the casino.
Asked at the desk
- Does Cascades Casino North Bay run a website for online play?
- No such site exists. Cascades Casino North Bay is a land-based casino, and none of its pages offers online casino play.
- Where is the list of legal online casinos in Ontario?
- iGaming Ontario publishes it at igamingontario.ca. For a private site to be legal, the AGCO must have registered it and iGaming Ontario must have an operating agreement with it.
- Can someone visiting from Quebec play online while in North Bay?
- The rule looks at where the player is. Ontario's regulated sites are for people 19 or older who are physically in Ontario, and North Bay is in Ontario.
- Does BetGuard keep a person out of the casino on Pinewood Park Drive?
- BetGuard does not reach the casino. It covers regulated online sites, OLG.ca included, and land-based casinos are outside it. My PlayBreak, OLG's self-exclusion for casinos on the ground, is the program that covers the venue.
